The institution was started in 1968 by Govt. of Maharashtra as a ‘Normal School‘ specially to train the in-service teachers working in vidarbha region the training institute namely Normal school was imparting the teachers. The B.ed course of one year and D.ed course two years two years duration specially for in-services teachers. Along with the courses one to three month courses for laboratory assistants was also being run in the institution. The in-services teachers training courses of three to seven days duration was being conducted for orienting or refreshing the new knowledge, concepts researches and methodologies to the secondary and upper primary teachers of BULDANA District on the strength of the financial assistance of state council for educational research and training (S.C.E.R.T.) Pune.
In a nutshell the institution was being run as full- fledged teachers training institute for vidarbha region.
It gives me an immense pleasure to share that Govt. College Of Education, Buldana faced 2nd cycle of NAAC reaccreditation process in march 2017and national assessment and accreditation committee an autonomous body of MHRD, New Delhi specially started for bringing quality in teacher education colleges and institution was pleased to according “A” Grade with 03.12 CGPA from April 2017 to march 2021.
The College has submitted MAS (mandatory affidavit system) the data for P.G. and U.G. courses (M.Ed and B.Ed. courses) and became eligible to impart the teacher’s training to desirous would be teachers, as per the new mandate of NCTE.
The college has also started M.Ed. (pre-service course of Two years duration) for oct. 2017 and became fully eligible to make the institute as composite college which was made compulsory by the supreme- courts order.
Recently the proposals of a research recognition center affiliated by Sant Gadgebaba Amravati, Univeresity, Amravati in faculty of education and permanent affiliation for the B.Ed course is send to university. Final orders are still awaited.
The College has a huge structure comprising of administrative, academic blocks, play ground, Boys hostel etc. are procured along with trained experience faculties with 06 Ph.D holders and Net/ Set Holders along with the special teachers of Yoga ,fine and performing arts. All the laboratories are fully furnished and equipped with furniture fixtures and necessary instructional structure.
